Students who don’t play hockey for their high school team have another option to keep that on-ice passion alive through the Junior Gold program.
 
Blaine Ice Dogs includes players from Andover, Anoka, Blaine, Cambridge, Isanti, Coon Rapids, Irondale, North Branch, Spring Lake Park and St. Francis with four teams (Junior Gold A, Junior Gold B and two Under-16 teams) based out of Fogerty Arena....

Icedogs First State Appearance

Junior hockey is alive and well in Blaine and the surrounding communities as the Junior Gold ‘A’-level Ice Dogs came within one win of a Minnesota Hockey League state title.

The Ice Dogs, which changed its mascot before last season, lost 6-1 to Edina in the championship game of the Minnesota Hockey League state tournament played at Plymouth Ice Arena, March 16-18.

Blaine found itself in an unfamiliar spot at the state tournament after years of mediocre play....
